Joining
Any boy in the first- through fifth-grade is welcome to join Pack 119. Den’s begin forming in early September, but a boy can join Pack 119 at any time during the year. There is a lot of information on both Cub Scouting and the Pack 119 program in our Parent Handbook.
Kindergartners may sign up to be Tigers in May and begin June 1 . The boy’s parent must fill out a Cub Scout application, which can be obtained from the Cubmaster, Pack Committee Chairman or at the Pahaquarra District – Central New Jersey Council offices.
Registration
The registration fee for joining Pack 119 is $55 per year. This fee pays for registration with the Boy Scouts of America, unit insurance, an annual subscription to Boys’ Life magazine, and leader training. The registration fee should be turned in to the Cubmaster or Pack Committee Chairman along with the Cub Scout application.
To join Pack 119, a Cub Scout Application needs to be completed and are available for download.
The Pack usually meets the last Friday of the month from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Union Township Middle School located on Perryville Road in Pittstown. View Pack Calendar
Uniforms
An essential component of Cub Scouting is the uniform. Cub Scouts are made to feel part of a group and have a place to display their awards when they wear their uniforms. The “Class A” uniform in Pack 119 consists of a blue uniform shirt (Webelos may wear tan shirts with blue shoulder tabs) with all patches (Council, Pack number, Den number, World Scouting insignia, and rank), appropriate neckerchief (orange for Tigers, yellow for Wolves, blue for Bears, and plaid for Webelos), and a neckerchief slide. Hats and belts are optional parts of the Pack 119 uniform. View our Uniforms Page for more information
Other Needed Items
New Scouts should also purchase the appropriate Handbook for their rank. Uniforms and Handbooks are available at Flemington Department Store, Efingers or on-line at www.scoutstuff.org/bsasupply. In addition to a uniform, one needs to purchase a Handbook for your boy’s rank. Boys in the first grade need a Tiger Cub Handbook, second-grade boys need a Wolf Handbook, third-grade boys need a Bear Handbook, and boys in the fourth or fifth grade need a Webelos Handbook.
Scholarships
Please note that Pack 119 believes that financial concerns should not prevent a boy from enjoying Cub Scouting. If you have concerns over the cost of joining the Pack, contact the Cubmaster or Pack Committee Chairman. All such discussions are kept strictly confidential within the Pack Committee.
